Recorders have to be there while you play. Cloud clippers want you to upload. GLworm goes through the Valorant recordings already on your drive, after the fact: nothing uploaded to find your plays, nothing running while you play. When a clip is ready, GLworm posts it straight to your own YouTube channel.
GLworm is not a cloud clipper. Nothing is uploaded to be processed, there is no queue to wait in, and there is no library on somebody else's server.

Sits running while you play and saves a clip the instant it sees something, in the games it supports. You can also drag in a recording you already have, or point it at your OBS folder, and trim it there by hand. But Medal never goes looking inside that file, because its finding only happens live. Clips stay on your PC unless you post them. The free plan carries ads.
Overwolf’s clipper: it records and clips for you while you play, in the titles it knows. Same live-only catch as Medal: nothing goes back through footage it wasn’t present for. The free tier needs an account, shows ads, and only keeps your uploads for three months; and while you can switch the capture watermark off in settings, anything exported from its editor keeps one until you subscribe.
Connect your Twitch or YouTube account, or upload a recording, and their servers send clips back a few minutes later. It does work on footage you already have. You just have to hand that footage over. Free clips are watermarked, lower resolution, capped and deleted after a couple of weeks.
Built specifically around Valorant, and the closest thing here to what GLworm does, except every frame goes to their servers first. You upload a file or paste a Twitch link and wait. There’s no free plan at all, and the entry tier stops at 30 clips a month.
Listens for kill sounds while you play and saves a short clip around each one. It can also take a Twitch, YouTube or Kick link and work through that recording instead, but only one you’ve already published, and every clip it makes lands in an online gallery. There’s no fully offline option.
It comes down to when the finding happens. Medal and Outplayed find your moments live, off the running game, so they have to be installed and awake before the play: hand them last month’s recording and all you get is a trimmer. Eklipse, FragCut and AssistantGG will go through a finished recording, but only once it is sitting on their servers. GLworm is the one that does both halves on your side: it opens the Valorant recording already on your drive, whatever made it, and finds the kills and rounds in it without the file ever leaving the machine. Powder used to work this way too, and was the closest thing to GLworm anywhere. Its team shut it down in July 2026 and cancelled every subscription. And when a clip is finished, GLworm posts it to your own YouTube channel from the same app, straight from your PC.
